SI has the Backup and Restore feature to help you take a backup of the organization-wide SI data and then restore it when needed. This feature can be used in the following scenarios:

  • Backing up data before updating SI so you can restore the original data if the update is unsuccessful.

  • Backing up and restoring data when you want to move your SI Server to another machine.

  • Backing up your SI data regularly to comply with your organization's Disaster Recovery policy.

Backup and Restore operations are performed in the SI Server Manager. So, you must have proper permissions to access the SI Server Manager.

Backup

  • If you want to back up custom reports, you must export them to your SI Server before running the backup. You can do this in the Standard Report Designer using the "Publish and Export to Server" feature or by clicking the Export button in the Report Explorer.

  • If you want to back up custom Visio stencils or AutoCAD blocks, you must export them to the SI Server.

To back up SI data:

1/ In the SI Server Manager, click the Backup SI Server button.
