You can add products specific to the Professional Security Association (PSA) list of products from their online store to the SI Catalog.

To add products, go to the Product Explorer and click Library > Add From. This opens the Add Products From Library interface.

Here, click the PSA button.

Field and Other Options

You can choose what fields you want to download (the default is all fields) and a few other options.

Mark downloaded products as approved

This option is checked by default. You may want to uncheck this to easily find products in your catalog that you have not yet reviewed.

Ignore blank product field values

This option is checked by default. Having this checked will not overwrite a locally populated field with a blank field from the PSA Library when updating a product you have previously downloaded.

Download product thumbnail(s)

This will download the JPG thumbnail image for products.

Update Pricing

To update your pricing from PSA, you must register with PSA.

Clicking Register will open the following form, where you can enter your Customer ID and Access Key. You can obtain your Customer ID and Access Key by joining PSA at www.psasecurity.com.

After downloading the products, you will be prompted to update your pricing from PSA. The data field that will be updated for your PSA products is unit cost.

You can then set your unit price manually for these products, set a margin and markup, or apply Price Rules to them.

Here, you can choose to set an automatic schedule for when to update the pricing for your PSA products, choose which Price Types you want to update, or manually update at any time by clicking the Update PSA Prices button.

You can access this dialog anytime via the Schedule Price Updates button on the ribbon.

Products That Update

If you downloaded the products from the PSA library as discussed above, they will be updated.

If you downloaded a product from another library or manually created a product, it will be updated with PSA pricing if both of the criteria below are met:

  • The manufacturer and model number match the product in the PSA library exactly.

  • The Vendor field is not populated with the name of a connected vendor partner selling the same product.
