You can access the Head Ends setting in the Control Panel to add and manage head ends.

A head end is the "origination point of a wire." In SI, a head end can be assigned to any product, although historically, it has been assigned to wires.

To access the Head Ends setting, click the following icon.

Assigning Head Ends to Products

The head end list is displayed on the Assign Head End and Bulk Wire Length form when adding wire products set to Bulk Wire in a project.

Example: You add a drop of CAT6 to the "Office 1" location within a project. One end of the wire is connected to a device in Office 1, and the other comes from a device in a rack on a different floor. When prompted to enter a wire length, you can assign this wire a head end of, say, "Control."

What "Control" means to you will vary, often by project. In this example, "Control" designates the group of equipment used for control.
