You can access the Manufacturers setting in the Control Panel to add and manage the manufacturers of products.
To access the Manufacturers setting, click the following icon.
This will open the following form.
Consider the following before you start adding manufacturers.
When you add products to SI from the D-Tools Library or our libraries, such as AV-IQ, the Manufacturers assigned to the products in the library are automatically created in SI.
When you are importing items from CSV files, you don't need to assign a manufacturer. However, when you edit an item in the catalog, you will need to assign a manufacturer to save the changes.
Add and Manage Manufacturers
You can add as many new manufacturers as you would like to.
To add a new manufacturer:
1/ Click New.
2/ Add the name of the manufacturer.
3/ Add one or more aliases for the manufacturer.
Aliases are intended to help you overcome the variations in the spellings of manufacturer names that exist in the products downloaded from our partner libraries, PSA and AV-IQ, or when importing products via CSV file.
Example: You already have Manufacturer ABC123 in your SI Catalog. You get a CSV file from a Vendor whose name is spelled "ABC123, Inc." If you have "ABC123, Inc." as an alias for "ABC123," SI maps products with manufacturer ABC123, Inc., in the CSV file to "ABC123."
4/ Click Save.
The number of items assigned to each manufacturer will be displayed in parentheses in the manufacturer names.
You can delete more than one manufacturer at a time by holding down Shift (to select a series) or Ctrl (to select outside of a series.)
You can delete multiple manufacturers at a time by holding down the Shift (to select a series) or Ctrl (to select outside of a series.)
Deleting a manufacturer will delete all products and labor items assigned to the manufacturer in the catalog. This operation is irreversible.
Change Case
You can change the case of one or multiple manufacturers at a time.
Select the manufacturers by holding down Shift (to select a series) or Ctrl (to select outside of a series) and select the Case option: Upper, Lower, Title, or Sentence.
