Project status allows you to designate the level of completion of a project.

To access the Project Status setting, click the following icon.

SI has four preset states for project statuses: Open, Won, Completed, and Lost. All new statuses you add should be mapped to one of the preset states.

Add and Manage Project Statuses

To add a new schedule status:

1/ Click New.

2/ In the new row for the status, do the following:

a/ Add a name for the status and map it to one of the preset states.

For example, add a new status, "Proposal in Process," and set it to the preset status "Open."

b/ For every status mapped to the preset status Open, set a probability percentage to estimate the likelihood of winning the project.

  • The probability percentage of status mapped to the preset state Lost will be 0%, and those mapped to states Won and Completed will be 100%.

  • The state and probability percentages are used when building Business Analytics for projects.

For example, the opportunities (Profit) Business Analytic filters to projects set to a status with the state set to "Open" and uses the Projected Profit field, which is the profit calculation for the project multiplied by the probability percentage for the status.

3/ To reorder the statuses, use the Move Up button and the Move Down button.

4/ Click Save.
