How to add and manage additional Project Files

All additional project files are listed at the bottom of the Project Explorer interface.

Categories

Along the left side is a default list of categories for organizing and filtering your project files. You can modify this list as you fit via the Manage button.

This will open a form where you can add, edit, or delete categories.

You can create one subcategory for each category to organize your files further.

Once a file has been added, you can change its category anytime by clicking the Change Category button.

New Button

The New button allows you to create linked Visio and AutoCAD files.

Add Button

The Add button allows you to add any file you desire to the list of project files. These could be PDF files of floor plans, Excel spreadsheets, or other similar documents.

After browsing to your files, you will have the option to organize them into categories using the following form.

Once done, you will be notified that the files will be copied to the project's folder.

You should never manually move files in or out of project folders. Always use the built-in SI functionality.

Open Button

The Open button opens the selected file in the software it is natively designed for, such as Visio for Visio files or Adobe Reader for PDFs.

Clone Button

The Clone button allows you to copy any files associated with a project.

Rename Button

The Rename button allows you to rename any files.

You should NEVER manually modify project files in Windows Explorer. Always use the built-in SI functionality.

Add Accepted Documents Button

The Add Accepted Documents button works in conjunction with the Customer Portal.

Add Mobile Install Documents Button

The Add Mobile Install Documents button allows you to add site images and documents from Mobile Install to the selected project's folder.

You will be automatically prompted to download Mobile Install documents when a project is checked out from the SI Server, or you can manually add them using this button.

Enable the relevant Project Setting in the Control Panel to turn off the prompts.

You will be able to choose which files you wish to download.

Send To Button

The Send To button allows you to zip any project files, zip and send via Outlook, or send a file to Mobile Install.
