The Export and Import features available in the Report Explorer interface are a great way to reuse customized reports and report groups between multiple SI users. The Import feature can also be used to import SI5 custom reports into SI.
Export
To export a report or a report group, click the Export tab in Report Explorer.
You can export it to a file or the SI Server.
File
1/ Click Export > File if you want to create an archive file for your customized SI reports.
2/ Select the reports you want to export and click the [...] button to select a location and name for your archive file.
The file is saved with an extension of ".dtr."
Other SI users can use the Import feature in the Report Explorer interface to make the reports live on their machine (assuming you haven't already exported the report to the SI Server), or you can use this to re-import your custom reports in the event of catastrophic circumstances where you've lost your reports.
Server
1/ Click Export > Server if you want to export it to the SI Server. The report is now part of your SI backup.
2/ Select the reports and click Export.
Import
To import a report or a report group, click the Import tab in Report Explorer.
You can import it from a file or the SI Server.
File
Click Import > File, browse to the .dtr file you want to import, and click Open.
When importing SI5.5 reports, use the dropdown to select SI5.x report archive files (*.zip).
Server
1/ Click Import > Server to download custom reports exported to the SI Server or update your custom reports to the latest version from the SI Server.
2/ Choose the reports you want to import and click Import.
Order Reports
Customized reports for tasks and service orders do not have an "export to server" feature. They must be exported or imported via the Order Report Designer.
