A summary service order is used to organize service orders. You can use these to organize service orders needed to complete the original request.
For example, you may create a service order, and the technician must remove a broken unit and order another. They can close out this service order and add it to a summary service order to stay organized. When the part is received and ready to be replaced, you can issue an additional service order.
To create a summary service order, click Start > Scheduling > Manage Tasks, and choose to create a summary task.
You will be prompted to select a client. Once you have selected the client, the New Summary Service Order form will be displayed.
The New Summary Service Order form will have the following tabs.
General
In the General tab, you can add a name and a description. The start and end dates and times are determined by the service orders associated with the summary service order.
Contacts
In the Contacts tab, the primary contact for the project will be displayed. You can edit this if needed.
Addresses
In the Addresses tab, the Address fields will be pre-populated with the address from the project, but you can modify it if needed.
Service Orders
In the Service Orders tab, you can add, remove, or create service orders associated with the summary service order.
