The Cinema Designer (TCD)is a cloud-based design tool that allows AV professionals to design a Home Theater project in minutes. This integration between TCD and SI allows customers to eliminate the double-entry of parts in D-Tools projects.

You will need to know a few things before using this integration.

  • If you want to use this integration, please email api@d-toolshelp.com requesting access to this particular integration, and we will enable it for you.

  • You will need an account with TCD to use this integration.

  • In this integration, the product data comes from TCD to SI. You will need to import the Screen Innovations (CSV) file of the TCD project to SI using the Import and Update feature in the Project Editor.

Do this to import the product data from TCD.

1/ Export the Screen Innovations CSV file of the TCD project by clicking the Export CSV to D-Tools button from the TCD interface.

2/ Create a new project or open an existing project.

3/ In the Project Editor of the project, click CSV > Import and Update in the Tools tab.

4/ You will be prompted to browse to the Screen Innovations CSV file.

Once the CSV file has been selected, the Map CSV File interface will open.

5/ Once your fields are mapped, click Next.

6/ On this next step, if some manufacturer names in your spreadsheet are not already a part of your SI catalog, you can create the manufacturers or map them to existing manufacturers, e.g., different spelling in your catalog.

12/ This step primarily summarizes what you have done in the previous steps.

Here, you can also choose whether to use the Part Number or Accounting Item Name fields to match them to the SI catalog items, if they exist in your CSV file.

These options are useful if you do not have a Model field mapped in your CSV file.

13/ When ready, click the Finish button.

14/ This will list all of the items in the CSV file. The "In Catalog" will indicate whether or not the items already exist in your SI catalog.

The Filter section of the ribbon allows you to filter between All, New, Matched, and Inadequate.

  • New - Items not already in the Project.

  • Matched - Items that already exist within the Project.

  • Inadequate - Items with not enough information for importing into the project. These products have no Model, Item Number, or Accounting Item Name fields mapped. These could also be items not assigned to a manufacturer.

15/ When ready, click the Import button and choose whether to import New, Matched, or New and Matched items.
