There are four main styles of Visio shapes in SI: Line, Elevation, Plan, and Schematic. Shapes exist inside of Visio stencils (.vss files).

The first time that you open a Visio project file in SI, you will see a prompt to download the D-Tools SI 2016 Stencils.

Click Yes to download them.

If you click No, you will be prompted to do this each time you open a Visio project file.

In our Visio interface, the list of the stencils you have downloaded is displayed in the Shapes tab in the D-Tools System Integrator window.

When stencils are updated, a link to download the updates will be available.

You can click the Download option under Manage Stencils to download specific manufacturer stencils.

You will see a form to choose the shapes you want to download.

SI shapes in Visio use the Shape Data interface within Visio; so, we recommend you enable this display option in the Visio ribbon.

Once you enable the Shape Data option, you can click the View tab, click the dropdown arrow in the Task Panes section, and select Shape Data to see the Shape Data interface of the shapes.

The shape data interface will be displayed on the right side of your Visio page, showing all available options and settings for the selected shape.

You can select multiple similar shapes, such as all speaker shapes on a Plan page, and make changes to them all at once via the shape data interface.
