You can explore the Project Prompt Settings in the Control Panel to set your preferences for prompts displayed when working on projects.
To access the Project Prompt Settings, click the following icon.
This will open the form with the settings.
Check In
The following are the Check In settings.
Setting | Description |
Check in project when project editor is closed | If you do not want to be prompted to check in projects to your SI Server when a project is closed, you can change this value to 'Yes' to automatically check in the project or to 'No' for no prompt.
Default value = Prompt. |
Check in all projects when SI is closed | When closing the application, if you have left any projects checked out, you will be prompted to check them in.
The options are "Prompt," "Automatic," and "Never."
Default = Prompt. |
Check out project when project editor is opened | If you do not want to be prompted to check out projects from your SI Server when a project is opened, you can change this value to 'Yes' to automatically check out the project or to 'No' for no prompt.
Default = Prompt. |
Get latest version of all project files on check out | If you want to be prompted to get the latest version of files, you can select Prompt.
If you want the latest version of the files to be automatically made available during checkout, you can select Automatic.
Default value = Never. |
Prompt to add new or updated Mobile Install documents when project checked out | This will prompt you to download any Site Images or Documents your resources have added to a task or service order in Mobile Install.
Default = No. |
Project Editor
The following are the Project Editor settings.
Setting | Description |
Prompt to update similar items when item editor closed | Set this to Yes if you want to be prompted to update Similar Items when you close the Edit Product form within a project.
Default = No. |
Prompt for alternates when adding products | This option will prompt you to add alternates to a project if alternate products are associated with the product you are adding.
Default = Yes. |
Prompt for wire length when adding bulk wire | When a wire product marked "Bulk Wire" is added to a project, this setting opens a dialog asking for the wire length and head end.
Your default wire length, set in the "Wire Measurements' setting, will auto-populate on the form.
Default = Yes. |
Prompt for wire length when adding package bulk wire | This setting allows you to preset your wire length in packages.
Retain this to Yes if you want to be prompted for the wire length when selecting "Bulk Wire" in a package.
Default = Yes. |
Prompt when a project is opened read only | When a project is locked, it is in the read-only state.
Set this to No to prevent a prompt from appearing each time you open a locked project.
Default = Yes. |
Prompt when a revision is opened read only | Revisions open in the read-only state.
Set this to No to prevent a prompt from appearing each time you open a revision.
Default = Yes. |
Prompt when an approved or rejected change order is opened read only | When a change order is approved or rejected, it is read-only.
Set this to No to prevent a prompt from appearing each time you open an approved or rejected change order.
Default = Yes. |
Prompt when a pending change order is opened | This prompt informs you that the project is opening and filtered to only the items on the pending change order.
Default = Yes. |
Prompt when adding miscellaneous items | This prompt will appear when adding miscellaneous items to a project to let you know how to view miscellaneous items in the Project Editor.
Default = Yes. |
Prompt to add items to an allowance when adding to an approved project | If you have one or more allowances in an approved project, when adding items to a pending change order, you will be prompted to choose whether to add the items to an existing allowance.
Default = Yes. |
Prompt to select change order when replacing approved items | Here, you can turn off the prompt, which lets you know that items are approved and need to be added to a change order.
Default = Yes. |
Prompt to search products in D-Tools Library when no products found in the catalog search | This will prompt you to search for a product in the D-Tools Library if you haven't already added it to the catalog.
Default = Yes. |
Prompt to compare catalog with project labor types for projects created from templates | This will prompt you to compare the catalog with project labor types for projects created from templates.
Default = Yes. |
Drawing
The following are the Drawing settings.
Setting | Description |
Prompt on adding shapes or blocks on a pending change order | This will prompt you if you attempt to drop a product on a Visio or AutoCAD page or sheet that is on a pending change order.
Default = Yes. |
Warn when adding shapes/blocks to drawings with total quantity greater than 1 | This will prompt you if you attempt to add a shape or block on a Visio or AutoCAD page or sheet when the total quantity of the item is greater than 1.
Default = Yes. |
Display help information when inserting PDF background in Visio | This will display help information related to inserting a PDF background on a Visio page if you are inserting a PDF background on a Visio page.
Default = Yes. |
Warn when adding optional or alternate products shapes to a drawing | This will prompt you if you attempt to add an optional or alternate product shape to a Visio or AutoCAD page or sheet.
Default = Yes. |
Export
The following is the Export setting.
Setting | Description |
Default folder to export project XML and JSON files | This will be the default location when using the Send To function for projects.
The default value will be your Documents folder in Windows. |
