SI offers comprehensive User management capabilities. You can create users and assign them to user groups, roles, and even categories of up to three levels. You can also manage users by marking them as active or inactive, disconnecting them from SI if needed, and setting sign-in policies to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
To be able to create and manage users, you must be logged in to an SI client as a user assigned to the default user group "Administrators" or be in a user group that has the "Manage Users" permission that falls under the Application Permissions category.
Users and Resources
You can create as many users as you need, regardless of the number of SI licenses you have. Concurrent logins are what are determined by your number of SI licenses.
To create users, access the Users setting in the Control Panel. This will open the Manage Users interface, where you can edit and delete them once they have been created.

You can create the following types of users.
User - a person granted the ability to sign in to SI, a "user" of SI.
Resource - a person that can be assigned to projects, tasks, and service orders. You may or may not grant the ability to sign in to SI to a resource.
Mobile Install User - a person granted the ability to log in to the Mobile Install website.
Every user is a resource, but not every resource is a user, and not every user is a Mobile Install User, and vice versa.
Managing Users and Resources
You have the following options to manage users.
Filter Users
You can use the Filter section of the ribbon to filter your users.
Mark Users as Inactive
You can mark a user as inactive by selecting the User is inactive check box when editing the user.
Inactive users have a red X displayed in the Inactive column.
Disconnect Users
You can disconnect a user from the SI server by selecting the user and clicking the Disconnect button in the Manage section of the ribbon.
Although this is rarely used, it could be necessary if a user chooses to work offline or their laptop dies or is stolen.
If all your SI licenses are actively logged in and a user assigned to the Administrator user group logs in, SI will automatically randomly bump out a logged-in user to maintain the concurrency limit.
Mobile Installer Users
You can use the Manage button in the Mobile Installer section of the ribbon to create, invite, map, and update Mobile Installers.

User Categorization
You can categorize users in the following ways.
#1 User Groups
User Groups allow you to grant or deny access to SI users via permissions. To manage user groups, click the User Groups button in the Categorization section of the ribbon.
Check out this article for more details.
#2 Roles
Roles are designations for your users that identify what they do. To manage roles, click the Roles button in the Categorization section of the ribbon.
Check out this article for more details.
Roles are used extensively on Workflow Rules to determine who to notify when a rule is triggered.
There are Report Settings that apply to roles for use on Custom reports.
#3 User Categories
You can also create categories for users, which can be useful in larger companies or if you are using the same SI server across multiple locations. Categories can be up to three levels.
To manage roles, click the User Categories button in the Categorization section of the ribbon.
User Sign-In Policies
You can manage your User Sign-In Policies to set session timeout and password preferences and enable Two Factor Authentication (2FA).
