You can add Inputs and Outputs (I/Os) for products so that they can be used on Visio and AutoCAD Schematic shapes and blocks. I/Os are also used to make Power over Ethernet (PoE) associations within a project.

I/Os can be added from the Product Explorer or the Project Editor.

Product Explorer

To add I/Os, click the I/Os button under the Tools tab in the Product Explorer.

This will open the I/O Studio.

Here, you can add the I/Os for a product. I/Os consist of three parts: Terminal, Signal, and Label.

You can manage your list of these via the I/Os settings in the Control Panel.

You can also add I/Os to a single product when it is opened for editing.

When products with I/Os are used in Visio or AutoCAD drawings, they populate the Visio and AutoCAD Schematic shapes and blocks.
