How to configure the Application Settings

You can explore the Application Settings in the Control Panel to set your preferences for using SI features.

To access the Application Settings, click the following icon.

This will open a form with the Application Settings.

The following are the Application Settings.

Analytics

Setting

Description

Prompt to save projects to database when viewing analytics

This assures all projects will be included in the Business Analytics data.

Default value = Yes.

Prompt to display home page analytics

This will turn the prompt on/off when you open SI to set up your home page to display Business Analytics.

Default value = Yes.

Application

Setting

Description

Warn me when closing the System Integrator window

Setting this to Yes will prevent you from accidentally closing SI.

When set to Yes, you will get the following message when you close SI.

Default value = No.

Warn me when closing System Integrator dialogs

This will warn you in a dialog if you have made changes.

This allows you to click the Cancel button instead of the Save and Close button.

Default value = Yes.

CSV Export

Setting

Description

CSV Export Format

This allows you to set the format for CSV exports from SI.

Options are ANSI and UTF-8.

Default = ANSI

Currency

Setting

Description

Display currency fields with two decimals

SI stores currency with four decimals for accuracy.

This setting allows you only to display two decimals for currency fields in grid interfaces.

Default = No.

Dark Mode

Setting

Description

Open SI in dark mode.

Default = No.

Reverse project row and text colors

This will reverse the colors chosen for rows and text; see below in the "Project Item Row Color" section.

This is intended to improve visibility in dark mode.

Default = Yes.

Use monochrome (white) icons

This allows you to choose whether or not to use white icons in Dark Mode.

Default = Yes.

Dictionary

Dictionary

The default dictionary is "English (Generic)."

You can select from the following options: English (United States), English (United Kingdom), English (Australia), English (Canada), Spanish (Spain), German (Germany), or French (France).

DPI

Setting

Description

Support DPI Awareness

This will improve the text display throughout SI, but there are known issues with our icons on ribbons and toolbars re-sizing to be very small.

Default value = Yes.

I/O

Setting

Description

Prompt to save I/O terminal and signal

This will prompt you to add new terminals and signals to your global list when manually typing in the new text when editing the I/Os for a product.

Default value = Yes.

Notifications

Setting

Description

Notification refresh interval

Determine how many minutes between notifications from Workflow Rules.

Default value = 5.

Prompt to display unread notifications on Sign-in

Choose whether or not you will be prompted for unread notifications when you sign in to SI.

Default value = Yes.

Project Item Row Color

Description

Package item row color

Here, you can enter the RGB decimal code to change the color of the rows for items that are part of the package within the Project Editor.

You can manually type in the decimal value or use the dropdown menu to select the color.

Default value = 255, 255, 230.

Package row font color

Here, you can enter the RGB decimal code to change the font color for items in the package within the Project Editor.

You can manually type in the decimal value or use the dropdown menu to select the color.

Default value = 0,0,0.

Accessory row color

Here, you can enter the RGB decimal code to change the color of the accessory rows within the Project Editor.

You can manually type in the decimal value or use the dropdown menu to select the color.

Default value = 255,255,192.

Accessory row font color

Here, you can enter the RGB decimal code to change the color of the accessory row's font within the Project Editor.

You can manually type in the decimal value or use the dropdown menu to select the color.

Default value = 0,0,0.

Optional row color

Here, you can enter the RGB decimal code to change the color of the optional items rows within the Project Editor.

You can manually type in the decimal value or use the dropdown menu to select the color.

Default value = 192,255,192.

Optional row font color

You can enter the RGB decimal code to change the font color in the optional item row within the Project Editor.

You can manually type in the decimal value or use the dropdown menu to select the color.

Default value = 0,0,0.

Alternate row color

Here, you can enter the RGB decimal code to change the color of the alternate product rows within the Project Editor.

You can manually type in the decimal value or use the dropdown menu to select the color.

Default value = 195,255,255.

Alternate row font color

Here, you can enter the RGB decimal code to change the font color of the alternate product row in the Project Editor.

You can manually type in the decimal value or use the dropdown menu to select the color.

Default value = 0,0,0.

Optional accessory row color

Here, you can enter the RGB decimal code to change the color of the rows for accessories associated with optional items within the Project Editor.

You can manually type in the decimal value or use the dropdown menu to select the color.

Default value = 255,255,192.

Optional accessory row font color

Here, you can enter the RGB decimal code to change the color of the row's font for accessories associated with optional items within the Project Editor.

You can manually type in the decimal value or use the dropdown menu to select the color.

Default value = 0,0,0.

Calculated row color

Here, you can enter the RGB decimal code to change the color of the rows for calculated items within the Project Editor.

You can manually type in the decimal value or use the dropdown menu to select the color.

Default value = 255,228,225.

Calculated row font color

Here, you can enter the RGB decimal code to change the color of the row's font for calculated items within the Project Editor.

You can manually type in the decimal value or use the dropdown menu to select the color.

Default value = 0,0,0.

OFE item row color

Here, you can enter the RGB decimal code to change the color of the rows for items marked as OFE (Owner Furnished Equipment) within the Project Editor.

You can manually type in the decimal value or use the dropdown menu to select the color.

Default value = 230,204,179.

OFE item row font color

Here, you can enter the RGB decimal code to change the color of the row's font for items marked as OFE (Owner Furnished Equipment) within the Project Editor.

You can manually type in the decimal value or use the dropdown menu to select the color.

Default value = 0,0,0.

Non-Billable item row color

Here, you can enter the RGB decimal code to change the color of the rows for items marked as non-billable within the Project Editor.

You can manually type in the decimal value or use the dropdown menu to select the color.

Default value = 255,228,225.

Non-Billable item row font color

Here, you can enter the RGB decimal code to change the color of the row's font for items marked as non-billable within the Project Editor.

You can manually type in the decimal value or use the dropdown menu to select the color.

Default value = 0,0,0.

Associated PD item row color

Here, you can enter the RGB decimal code to change the color of the Associated PD (powered device) item rows within the Project Editor while in the PoE view.

You can manually type in the decimal value or use the dropdown menu to select the color.

Default value = 255,255,192.

Associated PD item row font color

You can enter the RGB decimal code to change the font color in the Associated PD (powered device) item row in the Project Editor while in the PoE view.

You can manually type in the decimal value or use the dropdown menu to select the color.

Default value = 0,0,0.

Zero quantity item row color

Here, you can enter the RGB decimal code to change the color of the rows for items with zero quantity within the Project Editor.

You can manually type in the decimal value or use the dropdown menu to select the color.

Default value = 224,255,255.

Zero quantity item row font color

Here, you can enter the RGB decimal code to change the color of the rows for items with zero quantity within the Project Editor.

You can manually type in the decimal value or use the dropdown menu to select the color.

Default value = 0,0,0.

Resource

This setting determines whether a message is displayed when you attempt to schedule resources to a task or service order for a date and time that conflicts with other assigned tasks or service orders.

Default value = Yes.

SI Client Configuration

The first time you launch SI, you will be prompted to choose between running 64-bit (recommended) or 32-bit (required only if you are using QuickBooks Desktop 2021 or an older version).

If you change your selection here, you must close and reopen SI for the changes to take effect.

Default value = Prompt.

SQL Server LocalDB Database Path

Setting

Use Local Profile to Store LocalDB Database

Our support team uses this in rare circumstances. You shouldn't change this setting unless instructed.

Default = No.

Task/Service Order Row Color

Setting

Description

Summary task/service order row color

Here, you can enter any RGB decimal code to change the color of summary tasks in the Task Explorer.

You can manually type in the decimal value or use the dropdown menu to select the color.

Default value = 255, 255, 230.

Summary task/service order row font color

Here, you can enter any RGB decimal code to change the color of the summary task font in the Task Explorer.

You can manually type in the decimal value or use the dropdown menu to select the color.

Default value = 0, 0, 0.

Child task/service order row color

Here, you can enter any RGB decimal code to change the color of child tasks in the Task Explorer.

You can manually type in the decimal value or use the dropdown menu to select the color.

Default value = 255, 255, 192.

Child task/service order row font color

Here, you can enter any RGB decimal code to change the color of the child task font in the Task Explorer.

You can manually type in the decimal value or use the dropdown menu to select the color.

Default value = 0, 0, 0.

Windows Positions

Setting

Description

Reset windows sizes and positions

This allows you to reset all windows within SI to their default size and position each time they are closed or reopened.

Default = No.
