You can access the Phases setting in the Control Panel to add and manage project phases.

Phases designate the "time" in a project's lifecycle when items are installed. Phases are used extensively in the reporting throughout SI, especially Management and Installation reports where you want to track the progress of equipment installation.

To access the Phases setting, click the following icon.

This will open the following form.

Add and Manage Phases

You can add as many new phases as you would like to.

To add a new phase:

1/ Click New.

2/ In the table, do the following:

a/ Add a name for the phase.

b/ Select whether you want to override the price adjustments applied in the project by new values.

c/ If you select the Override Price Adjustments, you can specify the Product and Misc. Parts Adjustment values.

3/ Click Save.

Phase Mapping

This feature allows you to map the default phases assigned to products in the D-Tools Library to your own custom list of Phases. So, when you download products from the D-Tools Library, your chosen phase will be assigned to the products.

Assign Phases to Items

Phases can be assigned to products, labor items, and bundled cable in your catalog.

In the screenshot, we have assigned the phase Finish to a product.

Additional Functions Within the Project Editor

There are additional functions on the Manage Phases form within the Project Editor.

Change Default Phases

To open the Manage Phases form, click the Settings button and select Phases.

Within a project, you can adjust your phases specifically for that project.

  • You can save the changes you make within a project to your global list of phases for all future projects by clicking the Save All as Default button.

  • If you want to replace the phase settings within the project with whatever is in the global list, click the Restore Default and Restore All Defaults buttons.

Add New Phases

If you created a project and then created new phases via the Control Panel, you can use the Add Phases button.

  • When you click this button, a form will open showing you the phases that are not already in the project.

  • You can select the ones you want, then click the Add button.
