You can access the Project Custom Fields setting in the Control Panel to add and manage the Custom fields and store additional information about projects.
Project Custom Fields can also be used on Custom reports or to pull text into your Project Number Format.
To access the Project Custom Fields setting, click the following icon.
This will open the following form.
Project Field Types
SI has 64 Custom fields for projects.
12 Text fields
2 Long Text fields (two of which are long text fields)
4 Number fields
4 Date fields
4 Boolean fields (Yes/No)
4 Hyperlink fields
24 List fields, where you can add the options to the dropdown list.
10 Calculated fields
Short text fields have a limit of 300 characters, and Long text fields have a limit of 1000 characters.
Add and Manage Project Custom Fields
To add a new custom field for projects:
1/ Click New.
2/ Select the type of field.
Over time, you will see how many fields are already in use and how many are available.
3/ Add a name for the field.
4/ To reorder the fields, use the Move Up button and the Move Down button.
5/ Click Save.
List Fields
When adding a List type field, you can click Manage in the List section in the menu and add the options that should be displayed in the dropdown.
Calculated Fields
For Calculated custom fields, you will need to create a group to build your formula. You can also build multiple groups to build the formula.
To create a group, you will need to add fields or set a value and choose an operator.
Using Project Custom Fields
The custom fields added for projects are shown under the Custom Fields tab in the New Project form. You can add values for the fields when creating the project or editing its details.
