Mobile Install Settings

Everything you need to know to set up the Mobile Install functionality

If you are a Mobile Install (MI) user assigned the role of an "Administrator," you will have access to two additional tabs, Installers and Setup, once you log in from the Mobile Install Login page.

Setup Tab

Clicking the Setup tab opens a page with four tabs: Profile, Logo, Preferences, and Notifications.

Profile

Here, you can view and change your basic information: company name, contact, address, etc.

Logo

Here, you can upload your company logo so it will display in the MI interface.

Preferences

Here, you can set various preferences for how MI users experience the interface.

The following is the list of preferences.

Description

Display analysis of estimated and actual hours to Installers

Unchecking this will not display the Analysis tab for MI users set up with the role of "Installer" for tasks and service orders.

Display analysis of estimated vs. actual hours to Installers

If you do not want your resources that are set to the role "Installer" (vs "Administrator") to view the Analysis tab in MI, then check this box.

Display price on service order items

If you do not want the price displayed for items on a service order, check this box.

Display price when approving a task or service order

If you do not want the price displayed on the Approve tab for tasks or service orders, uncheck this box.

Display time in 24-hour format

Use this option if you prefer this to the 12 12-hour format.

Remove installers from tasks and service orders when the installer is removed from tasks and service orders in SI even if the installer has timesheets

Use this setting if you find yourself keeping tasks and service orders open for long periods and don't want resources that aren't responsible for the "current" work needed on the task or service order.

This will keep them from receiving emailed reminders and being displayed on their calendar.

Require at least an on-site image to mark the task as completed

Use this if you want to require at least one site image to be added to the task to mark it as Completed.

Require at least an on-site image to mark the service order as completed

Use this if you want to require at least one site image to be added to the service order to mark it as Completed.

Automatically update % complete for tasks based on items marked as installed

This option does the math for you when you mark items as installed on a task and will update the % Complete field automatically.

This setting is only editable within Task Settings in SI.

Disable Time Sheets

This will not allow resources to create an SI time sheet for tasks and service orders.

This option can only be set from the QuickBooks Time Integration Settings in SI.

Archive Section

Here, you can set how often (if at all) you want your tasks and service orders archived.

See Managing Tasks for more details on many of these settings.

Notifications

Here, you can choose your email preferences for task and service order notifications.

Installers Tab

Clicking the Installers tab will let you view and manage your MI users or Mobile Installers.

When editing an installer, you can change their role, mark them inactive, and give them permission to "Edit Actual Hrs On All Resources."

You may want to do this if you have multiple installers assigned to a task or service order and want to allow a "Lead installer" to keep track of the actual hours.

Additional Settings

There are also a few more settings available to you via the button next to your username in the upper right corner of the interface.

My Profile

Here, you can change your name, email, mobile, time zone, and notification time and days.

Change Password

Here, you can change your MI password.
